Modern Farming in Europe: Innovation in the Driver’s Seat?
Modern Farming in Europe:
Innovation in the Driver’s Seat?
March 7, 2017, starting 6:30 p.m. CET
Running economically viable farming systems, being socially responsible and producing more without increasing the environmental footprint – these are some of the biggest challenges the agriculture sector is facing today. To address these challenges, agriculture has to be able to make the most of the full range of innovative solutions, approaches & technologies.
From crop development to managing livestock, the future of EU farming lies in innovation. It aims to resolve the most pressing issues from maximizing efficient use of natural resources via better management practices to implementing new technologies and to increasing know-how. However, in order for innovation to make its mark, knowledge has to be shared in a better way and ideas translated into practice, while engaging all generations of farmers.
