Increasing incomes will change diets and lead to a higher consumption of meat and vegetables. That will require again additional resources. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the FAO, estimates that we need to increase agricultural production between 2013 and 2050 by 50%. The main portion of that has to come via higher yields as we have almost no additional agricultural land at hand."
